St. Louis Work Zones for September 3 - 9

ST. LOUIS – All construction work on state routes will stop at noon Friday to open up the roadways for travel for the Labor Day weekend. All permanent lane closures and barriers on some construction projects will remain this weekend. Crews may also complete emergency road repairs as needed during the holiday period as well. Work will resume Tuesday, September 8 at 9 a.m.

After Labor Day, drivers along Interstate 44 and Interstate 270 should expect increased delays during the evening rush period. Crews will start rehabilitating the westbound I-44 bridge over the Meramec near Interstate 270, Tuesday, September 8.

Crews will close two lanes on westbound I-44 to set barrier wall overnight September 8 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting. After 5 a.m., the far right lane on westbound I-44 will be closed. One lane on westbound I-44 will remain closed around the clock for the next six weeks.

To avoid congestion during evening rush, drivers may want to consider alternate routes,  where possible.

For additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions, go to http://traveler.modot.org/map.  For real time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com.  All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
