Memorial Highway Ceremony Honors SSG Norman J Inman
SIKESTON - A dedication ceremony honoring Staff Sergeant Norman J. Inman was held Friday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Arcadia Valley High School Gym. A portion of Highway 21 in Iron County from the intersection of Highway 221 south to the intersection of Highway 72 was named the Staff Sergeant Norman J. Inman Memorial Highway.
Inman, a graduate of Arcadia Valley High School, was a Staff Sergeant in the Missouri Army National Guard 1140th and served his country in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Arcadia Valley Elks Lodge, the Ironton VFW Post, the Leadwood Masonic Lodge and was active in Babe Ruth baseball, Little Dribblers and the Boy Scouts of America.
Inman passed away at his home on Jan. 5, 2012, leaving behind his wife, Connie; sons, Josh, Justin and Jonathan; and mother Myrtle.
