HANNIBAL - The new Route J bridge over Indian Camp Creek in Warren County is now open to traffic. The previous bridge was replaced with an eight-feet wider bridge that includes shoulders. "We appreciate the patience of motorists as they endured the closures," said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. Don Schnieders Excavating Company, Inc., was the contractor on the project. While it is near the end of highway construction season, Maninga encourages drivers to sign up for text alerts, which notifies them of road closures, both planned and emergency. "This is a valuable tool, especially when roads are closed due to incidents or natural disasters such as flooding or poor winter driving conditions," he explained. Drivers can subscribe by county or by project. To sign up, go to https://www6.modot.mo.gov/eMoDOTWeb/jsp/signon/signon.jsp.
