Road Work for Mid-Missouri

July 25 – August 5, 2016

 


JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of July 25-August 5, 2016. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 Bridge Replacement – Replacement of bridges over Business Loop 70, Garth Avenue and Rangeline Street continues.

 

Traffic Impacts Week of July 25:

Business Loop:

  • Contractor Emery Sapp and Sons is on schedule to finish work on the new Business Loop 70/West Boulevard interchange on July 27. Business Loop and all ramps will open on July 27. Until then, all on- and off- ramps at Interstate 70 and Business Loop remain closed.
  • Those heading to Cosmo Park for the Show Me State Games this weekend (July 22-24) should use Stadium Boulevard as an alternate route. In addition to Stadium, travelers can use Providence Road and Bernadette Drive to get to shops, restaurants and other destinations along Business Loop.
  • When completed, the new Business Loop interchange will include two dual-lane roundabouts on the north and south sides of I-70, improved access to I-70 Drive Southwest and decreased traffic delays on Creasy Springs Road.
  • Median barrier near Range Line Street along I-70 will be finished Monday, August 1, weather permitting.

Route 63 Outer Road over Gans Creek Bridge, south of Discovery Parkway – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic between Discovery Parkway and South Brock Rogers Road, and access to and from Route 63 from the Outer Road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW – Pavement repair and resurfacing in the northbound and southbound lanes continues.  

       * The northbound and southbound Route 63 ramps to and from Route 763 will be closed from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, July 25 through Wednesday, July 27 for pavement repair.

      * The northbound Route B ramps from Route 63 will be closed from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 28.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 over Perche Creek, east of Midway – Bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes will take place the week of August 1.  One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 124 over Reader Branch, west of Proctor Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH between Route B and Route Z – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 


Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Business Route 54 and County Road 147 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 94 between Route 63 and Bluffton Road in Montgomery County – Pavement repairs and shoulder widening continues.

       * Route 94 will be closed between Route D in Callaway County and Route P in Montgomery County from Thursday, July 28 through Saturday, July 30 for culvert pipe replacements. Traffic will be detoured around the work area on Routes D, K and P.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by fall.

Route H between Route J and County Road 333 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, July 26. The work will include a full road closure between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route J between County Road 345 and County Road 354 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, July 27. The work will include a full road closure between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route O between County Road 111 and County Road 131 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Interstate 70 and Business Route 54 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH between County Road 203 and County Road 214 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, July 26. The work will include a full road closure between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route JJ between Interstate 70 and Route Z – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Interstate 70 Outer Road between Business Route 54 and Route JJ – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Camden County

Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route Y and Old Route 5 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues. Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Overnight Hours
Route TT at Route F – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Second Street and Fourth Street in Camdenton – Roadside maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place on Thursday, July 28. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road – Roadside maintenance in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route W between Route 54 and Geronimo Springs Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cole County 

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50/63 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

 

Scheduled Work During the Week of July 25th:

Contractors will be working on retaining walls, paving and installing traffic signals on Lafayette Street, and tying reinforcing steel at the Jackson Street bridge.

Upcoming Traffic Impacts:

There will be periodic lane closures of eastbound and westbound U.S. Route 50/63 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the work zone area Monday through Friday. There will also be periodic lane closures on 50/63 from Monroe Street to Chestnut Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday.

Current Traffic Impacts:

  • All Route 50/63 ramps at Lafayette Street remain closed.
  • The westbound Route 50/63 Clark Avenue on ramp is now OPEN.
  • Westbound and eastbound bypasses have been removed. All traffic patterns have returned to normal on eastbound and westbound Route 50/63 at Lafayette Street.
    (NOTE: Workers are still working in the area. Please observe all posted work zone speed limits for your safety and the safety of the workers.)
  • Elm Street is permanently closed from Lafayette Street 500 feet east to Cherry Street and also from just east of Marshall Street to Lafayette Street.


Pedestrian/Cycling Impacts
:

The east and west sidewalks along Lafayette Street from East Dunklin Street to East Miller Street, and across the Jackson Street Bridge remain closed due to construction. A temporary detour has been laid out on Monroe Street and Chestnut Street Bridge. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic is asked to use this temporary detour.

Route 54/63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City – Westbound bridge repair and painting continues.  
* The westbound Route 54/63 bridge is closed. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound bridge. Concrete barriers separate eastbound and westbound traffic. Drivers are encouraged to alter their travel times to avoid morning and evening rush periods.
The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 50 between Truman Boulevard and Vetter’s Bridge – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.

       * Guardrail replacement will take place the week of July 25.  Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Routes 50/63 over the Moreau River, east of Shamrock Road – Bridge inspection in the eastbound/southbound lanes will take place the week of August 1.  One southbound/eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route C over the North Moreau Creek, east of Hemstreet Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 1.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 over the Lamine River, west of Boonville – Bridge reconstruction in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.

       * Traffic on Interstate 70 near Boonville is reduced to one lane in each direction. Significant travel delays can be expected, especially on peak travel days.

       * Alternate routes around the construction area include U.S. Route 50 to the north and U.S. Route 36 to the south.

The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route K over the Blackwater River, north of Blackwater – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Crawford County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route J and the Franklin County Line - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes continues.  One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route P and Route PP – Pavement marking will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between Route 19 and Riverside Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Interstate 44 and Fletcher Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Hinch Road and Possom Hollow Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Dent County

Daylight Hours

Route K between Route 19 and Route KK in Shannon County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route EE between Route 32 and the Route EE Spur – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 28 and Route CC in Crawford County – Pavement, shoulder and signal improvements are underway.
* Signal light work is planned for the week of July 25 at Route 19 and First Street in Owensville, resulting in possible lane closures. Lane closures are also planned for the intersection of Route 19 and Routes F/CC.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Route 28 between Route 50 and Route 63 in Maries County – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement continues. 

       * Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area.

       * Striping operations will take place the week of July 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.  The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 100 over the Gasconade River, west of Coles Creek Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 1.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 28 and Peaceful Valley Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Howard County

Daylight Hours

Route H between Route 124 and Route B in Randolph County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route BB between Route O and County Road 134 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Laclede County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route F – Pavement repair in the westbound lanes continues. One westbound lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late July.

 

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route A in Miller County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Route Y and Route AA in Morgan County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 54 between Route 242 and the Cole County line – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes will begin on Monday, July 25. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Route 54 between Route 52 and Route V – Roadway maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 87 at Salem Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between Columbia Avenue and Oak Bend Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route C and Bear Creek Road – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Wednesday, July 27 through Wednesday, August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Moniteau County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 179 over Splice Creek, north of Route P – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route 179 between Route P and Splice Creek – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route F and Flag Spring Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Morgan County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route M over Haw Creek, north of Pond Road – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, July 25.  The road will be closed to traffic. Detours will be in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route AA over Indian Creek, south of Barnett – Bridge replacement is underway. The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Route C and Route AA - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Osage County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route 100 – Resurfacing, sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue.

       * Paving operations will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the week of July 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route T in Gasconade County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder and approach paving will take place the week of July 25. One lane is open and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. The project is set for completion in August.

Route 63 over the Maries River, north of Brewery Lane – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 1.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 89 over the Gasconade River, south of Route E – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 1.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 at the Vichy Road Overpass in Rolla – Bridge maintenance and culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. The Vichy Road overpass will be closed Tuesday through Thursday. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Interstate 44 between Route 63 and Route F in Crawford County - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes continues.  One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route 68 and Meramec Farm Road in Crawford County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder work and roadway widening will take place the week of July 25. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. The project is set for completion in October.

Route J between County Road 6450 and County Road 7640 - Roadway maintenance will take Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route T between Route M and Route P - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, July 26 through Thursday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Pulaski County

Daylight Hours

Route 17 between Route H and Route T – Pavement improvements and grading are underway.

       * Minor traffic interruptions are possible the week of July 25, as erosion control items and drainage extensions are installed. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Route O between Route 28 and Cave Road - Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, July 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route W between Route 7 and Raleigh Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
