           JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of May 25 - June 4, 2015. Scheduled lane closures will not take place on Monday, May 25 for the Memorial Day Holiday. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.
              MoDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. Daylight/Evening Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route OO over Hinkson Creek, southeast of Hallsville AND

Route UU over Sugar Branch Creek, west of Columbia – Bridge replacement is underway. Both bridges are closed during the work.

 

  • This week’s activities
    • Route OO closed on Tuesday, April 28 at Hinkson Creek for total bridge replacement.  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route OO: South on Route OO to South on Route Z to West on Route HH to North on Route B to South on Route OO.  Southbound Route OO: North on Route OO to South on Route B to East on Route HH to North on Route Z to North on Route OO.  The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by August 10, 2015

 

    • Route UU closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 5 at Sugar Branch Creek for total bridge replacement.  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route UU: South/West on Route UU to North on Route O to East on I-70 to South on Route UU.  Southbound Route UU:  North on Route UU to West on I-70 to South on Rte O to East/North on Route UU.  The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by September 4, 2015.

 

Route PP between the 63 Connector and the end of state maintenance - Resurfacing from the beginning of State Maintenance (Near Dusty Rhodes Lane) to north of Clark Lane, the total length of improvement being 4.399 miles

 

  • This week’s activities
    • Route PP work will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday, May 26.  The contractor will begin northbound from Clark Lane to just south of the Mexico Gravel Road roundabout.  They will then pave southbound through this same area.  Once this work is completed, they will move paving operations to complete to section between the Mexico Gravel Road roundabout and the north end of Route PP.  Paving operations for Wednesday through Friday will take place between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.  A pilot car will lead traffic through the work zone.  The current work schedule is weather permitting.


Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between Route 763 and Route 740 – Roadway maintenance will take place in the westbound lanes Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open.

Interstate 70 between Route J and Route BB –
Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. This is a moving operation, and motorists should be alert to slow-moving equipment along the eastbound and westbound lanes.

I-70 Drive NE between Route Z and Route J (Callaway County) –
Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route U and Route 22 – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Route 54 between Business Route 54 and County Road 209
– Bridge maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 over the Katy Trail
– Bridge maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 2. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Kingdom City and the Cole County Line
– Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. This is a moving operation, and motorists should be alert to slow-moving equipment along the eastbound and westbound lanes.

I-70 South Outer Road between Route 54 and Route JJ – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Route O at the junction of Route O and County Road 102 – Roadside maintenance will take place Thursday, May 28 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area

 

Route OO over Route 54 in Holts Summit – Bridge maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route UU and I-70 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

Daylight Hours
Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
       * One lane road with flaggers and a pilot car for shoulder widening / resurfacing operation will take place the week of the May 25. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 5 between the Morgan County line and the Laclede County Line – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. This is a moving operation, and motorists should be alert to slow-moving equipment along the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Route 54 between Miller County line and Hickory County line – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. This is a moving operation, and motorists should be alert to slow-moving equipment along the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Route D between Route 54 and Route E in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Paving, striping and guardrail and sign installation will take place the week of May 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Route J between Route 54 and Route 7 – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Crews will install signs and guard rail during the week of May 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

Route J between Route 54 and Route 7 – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T between Route 7 to the Laclede County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open flaggers and a pilot car will be in place through the work area.

Route Y between Route 54 and County Road Y-30 – Resurfacing and shoulder work continues.

       * Crews will install signs and guard rail during the week of May 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

Cole County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange -
Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.
        * Blasting operations will take place daily between noon and 2:30 p.m. during the week of May 25 and continue for several weeks. Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for approximately 15 minutes while the blasting takes place.

       * Crews will continue to work on Chestnut Bridge during the week of May 25.

       * Elm Street is permanently closed from east of Lafayette Street.

       * The Chestnut Street bridge is closed until completion in June 2015.  The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, June 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Route T between Route 179 and Route 50 – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, June 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route N and Route U – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, June 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper County

Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between Route 87 and the Boone County line -
Pavement repair work and resurfacing.

 

This week’s activities:  Pavement repair work will have one lane of I-70 closed during the overnight hours.  Eastbound hours are starting at 6:00 pm and will re-open by 6:00 am.  Westbound hours are 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Work will start in the eastbound lanes between Route 87 and the Missouri River Bridge.  Once eastbound I-70 pavement repair work is completed, the contractor will begin working in the westbound lanes.

Route 179 between Interstate 70 and the Moniteau County line – Culvert pipe replacement will continue the week of May 26.

This week’s activities:  Route 179 between Route V and Oerly Drive will be closed for three days for culvert replacement starting Tuesday, May 26.  Signed detours will be in place.  Northbound:  South on Route 179 to West/North on Route 87 to I-70 East to South on Route 179.  Southbound:  North on Route 179 to I-70 West to South/East on Route 87 to North on Route 179.  In the event that weather does not permit this work to take place on Tuesday, work will begin later in the week when weather allows.    

  

Route P between Route 179 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route EE between Route 179 and Route 87 – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route O and Route DD – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 49 and Bowers Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 8 and Route YY – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route UU between I-44 and the end of state maintenance – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route YY between Route M and Route 68 in Phelps County – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between Route 89 and Route A – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route T between Route 50 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 25 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E over Adams Fork, west of Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues.

  • Route E at Adams Fork closed on Monday, March 16 for bridge replacement.  Detours for Route E are signed as follows:  Westbound Route E: South on Route 5, west on Route J, north on Route 87, east on Route E. Eastbound Route E: West on Route E, south on Route 87, east on Route J, north on Route 5.  Route E is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-June.

Route 40 Between Route 5 and Bonne Femme Creek - Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, June 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Tuesday, May 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 134 between Route 42 and Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Camden County –
Roadway sealing is scheduled to begin the week of May 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late May.

Route E between Route 52 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29 and Monday, June 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Main Street to Plum Street – Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, June 3 and Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 52 and Route A – Roadway maintenance will take place

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James –
Bridge replacement continues.
       * Contractor plans to install rebar for the bridge deck for the entire week. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected during the week of May 25. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Shafer Road at the junction of Route 63 and Shafer Road (Texas County) – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 63 in Maries County -
Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

* Contractor is planning to continue paving operations for the mainline overlay portion of the project pending weather. This will be a one lane operation controlled with flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should expect delays when traveling through this work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route J between Interstate 44 and Route M – Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, May 27 through Thursday, June 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route P between Route J and Route T – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
