Road Work for Mid-Missouri

July 27 – August 7, 2015

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of July 27 – August 7, 2015. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

MoDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between mile markers 124 and 128 – Bridge maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Sunday, July 26 through Tuesday, July 28. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW (Broadway Street) – Concrete pavement repairs in the northbound and southbound lanes will continue the week of July 27. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be open through the work area. The work is expected to be completed in mid-August.

Route 63 Connector at Interstate 70 – Concrete pavement repairs in the northbound and southbound lanes will continue the week of July 27. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be open through the work area. The work is expected to be completed in mid-August.

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route UU over Sugar Branch Creek, west of Columbia
– Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed during the work.

       * Asphalt work to tie the new bridge into the existing roadway will take place the week of July 27. Grading, guardrail installation, seeding and striping will also take place. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

       * The signed detours for Route UU are as follows:  Northbound Route UU: South/West on Route UU to North on Route O to East on I-70 to South on Route UU.  Southbound Route UU:  North on Route UU to West on I-70 to South on Route O to East/North on Route UU. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by September 4, 2015.

Route F over Perche Creek, south of Perche Church Road –
Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 4. The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

 

Route V between Route U and Anchorom Road – Culvert pipe replacement. The road will be closed between 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29 and 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 30. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

Route Z between Interstate 70 and Business Route 124 in Centralia – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 3 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

I-70 Drive Northeast between Route Z and Route J in Callaway County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight Hours

Route B between Route 54 and the Montgomery County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route 94 and Route O – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route JJ between Route Z and Route UU – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route OO over Route 54 in Holts Summit – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route UU between Route O and Route JJ – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
       * Crews will continue grading and guardrail installation during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange -
Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

       * Blasting operations continue the week of July 27, and take place daily between noon and 2:30 p.m. Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for approximately 15 minutes while the blasting takes place.

       * The westbound driving lane of Route 50/63 is closed from Clark Avenue to Monroe Street until September. Travelers on westbound Route 50/63 into Jefferson City may experience delays during peak traffic times, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.

       * The westbound on ramp from Clark Avenue is closed until September.

       * Lafayette Street from East Elm to East Miller is closed until September.

       * The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead and take alternate routes around the area. 


Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between Route 87 and the Boone County line – Pavement repair and resurfacing continues.

       * The contractor will seal pavement cracks under a moving lane closure in the eastbound and westbound lanes during the week of July 27.

       * Guardrail repair work along the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place during the overnight hours the week of July 27 with one lane closed. The work is expected to be completed in mid-September.

Route 5 between Old Route 40 and Radio Hill Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Crawford County
Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between mile marker 210 and mile marker 214 – Bridge maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Sunday, July 26 and Monday, July 27. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 19 over Interstate 44 in Cuba – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 19 over Crooked Creek, north of Blackstock Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route C between Interstate 44 and Route 19 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route E between Route 8 and Cave Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Route N over the Meramec River, west of Hinch Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T between Route 8 and the end of state maintenance – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route BB between Route 8 and Westover Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route TT between Route 8 and Liberty Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Gasconade County
Daylight Hours
Route F between Route 19 and Route J
– Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route ZZ between Route 19 and the Franklin County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Daylight Hours

Route 40 over Moniteau Creek, east of County Road 240 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 40 over Salt Creek, east of County Road 445 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 40 between County Road 444 and County Road 460 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between County Road 309 and County Road 325 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 3 through and Thursday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Route 87 and Route J – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route F at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad– Railroad crossing repairs continue.

       * The crossing is closed to traffic for roadway realignment and crossing improvements. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 133 and Osage Beach Parkway in Miller County –
Chip sealing of the roadway surface to extend pavement life continues.

       * Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface until crews sweep the roadway. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late July.

Route 63 between North Route 28 and South Route 28 – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * The contractor will repair concrete during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route V between Route 42 and Route N – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Miller County
Daylight Hours

Route P between Route 87 and Main Street in Olean - Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Crews will begin grading work during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route V between Route 54 and the end of state maintenance – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Route W between Route Y and Business Route 54 – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Route Y between Route 52 and Hickory Road in Morgan County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * The contractor will repair box culverts during the week of July 27 in preparation for shoulder widening. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

 

Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route 50 and Business Route 54 in Miller County
- Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening has been suspended until early August. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route A between Route 87 and the Cole County line – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, July 28. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route H between Route 50 and Route AA in Cooper County – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Monday, August 3. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route N between Route 87 and Route NN in Cole County – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route U between Route D and Howard Creek Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route 87 and Route D – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Thursday, August 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route BB between Route 50 and Arthur Road – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Thursday, July 30. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Route 5 and Route 52 –
Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Crews will install rumble strips and stripe the road during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route TT between Route 5 North and Route 5 South – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Wednesday, July 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface after the seal coat is complete. Crews will later sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Osage County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route Y over Little Third Creek, north of County Road 736 –Bridge deck replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James – Bridge replacement continues.
       * The contractor plans to continue grading operations for the new roadway during the week of July 27.  Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 63 in Maries County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Grading work will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

 

Pulaski County
Daylight Hours

Route H between Route 17 and Stillwater Road – Culvert pipe maintenance in various locations will take place Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between the I-44 North Outer Road and Holtzman Road - Roadway resurfacing will begin Monday, July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.
