Road Work for Mid-Missouri

August 29 – September 9, 2016

 


 


JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of August 29 – September 9, 2016. Scheduled maintenance activities will not take place on Monday, September 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 Bridge Replacement – Replacement of bridges over Business Loop 70, Garth Avenue and Rangeline Street is essentially complete. Minor traffic interruptions are possible.

 

Route 63 Outer Road over Gans Creek Bridge, south of Discovery Parkway - Bridge replacement is complete. Occasional lane closures are possible during the week of August 29.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW – Pavement repair and resurfacing in the northbound and southbound lanes continues.

             * Pavement repair will take place on the Route WW and Route AC interchanges the week of August 29.  

       * Shoulder repairs will take place between Rangeline Street and Route WW the week of August 29. One northbound lane and one southbound lane are open through the work area.

The project is set for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours

Route 124 over Reader Branch, west of Proctor Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between McDonald Road and the Audrain County line – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, September 6. The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.


Route D between Route Z and McDonald Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, September 7. The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.


Route BB over Interstate 70, east of the Missouri River – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Business Route 54 and County Road 147 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 94 between Route 63 and Bluffton Road in Montgomery County – Pavement repairs and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder work, culvert pipe extensions and grading operations will take place the week of August 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion by fall.

Route C between County Road 400 and County Road 455 – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, September 6 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between Route O and County Road 4055 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. The work will include occasional full road closures for up to 30 minutes at a time between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route D between County Road 170 and County Road 175 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, August 30. The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route PP between Route BB and County Road 435 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Tuesday, September 6 through Thursday, September 8. The work will include occasional full road closures for up to 30 minutes at a time between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

 

 

Camden County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route Y and Old Route 5 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues.  One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours
Route J over the Niangua River, south of Nonsuch Road – Bridge inspection will take place on Wednesday, September 7. The bridge will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route W between Route 54 and Geronimo Springs Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cole County 

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50/63 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

Scheduled Work During the Week of August 29, Weather Permitting:  

Contractors will work on retaining walls, and pour curb, gutter, concrete islands and sidewalk on Lafayette Street. They will also install curb/gutters and lay asphalt on Jackson Street. The contractors will also continue installing traffic signals on Lafayette Street and will install sidewalks and ADA ramps along Jackson Street.

Upcoming Traffic Impacts:

  • There will be periodic lane closures of eastbound and westbound U.S. Route 50/63 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 28 through Saturday, September 3 from Monroe Street to Chestnut Street.

 

Current Traffic Impacts:

  • All Route 50/63 ramps at Lafayette Street remain closed.

 

Route 54/63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City – Westbound bridge repair and painting continues.  
* The westbound Route 54/63 bridge is closed. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound bridge. Concrete barriers separate eastbound and westbound traffic. Drivers are encouraged to alter their travel times to avoid morning and evening rush periods.
The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 50 between Dix Road and Vetter Lane – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.

             * Guardrail replacement and rumble strip installation will take place the week of August 29. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard) at Kansas Street – Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue.

       * Electrical work is planned for the week of August 29. Periodic lane closures are possible through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-September.

Route H over Bois Brule Creek, south of Corvette Lane –
Bridge maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 30 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 over the Lamine River, west of Boonville – Bridge reconstruction in the eastbound and westbound lanes was completed on August 17.  Occasional lane closures are possible the week of August 29.

Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between mile marker 90 and mile marker 98 – Roadway maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Sunday, August 28 through Thursday, September 1. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 5 between Interstate 70 and Route 87 – Pavement repair is scheduled to begin the week of September 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Daylight Hours

Route 87 over Interstate 70 – Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between Route 87 and Route O in Moniteau County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Crawford County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route J and the Franklin County Line - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. 

       * Paving of entrance and exit ramps will take place the week of August 29. Pavement sealing will also take place on the shoulders. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.


Daylight Hours

Interstate 44 between mile marker 213 and mile marker 215 – Roadway sweeping in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place on Wednesday, August 31. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 19 between Route P and Route PP – Pavement marking will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route CC and Bailey Road – Culvert pipe repair in various locations will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route 49 and Route Y - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route BB between Route 8 and Westover Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route WW between Essman Dunn Road and the Franklin County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Dent County

Daylight Hours

Route MM between Route 32 and County Road 4280 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Gasconade County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route A over Crider Creek, north of Lahmeyer Road – Bridge replacement continues.  The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 28 and Route CC in Crawford County – Pavement, shoulder and signal improvements continue.
* Signal work continues in various locations the week of August 29. Lane closures are also planned for the intersection of Route 19 and Routes F/CC. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 50 over the Gasconade River, west of River Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route Y between Route 28 and Peaceful Valley Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Howard County

Overnight Hours

Route 40 between Route 5 and the Cooper County line – Pavement repair is scheduled to begin the week of September 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Daylight Hours

Route A between Route W and the Randolph County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 124 and Route B in Randolph County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Laclede County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route F – Pavement repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Daylight Hours

Route AD over the Gasconade River, south of Vintage Drive – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 29.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 133 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 and Tuesday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 42 over the Gasconade River, east of County Road 336 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of September 6.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route T between Route 42 and Route AA - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 and Tuesday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Miller County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 87 over the South Moreau Creek, south of the Moniteau County line – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late October.

 

Overnight Hours

Route MM over the Osage River, west of Bagnell Dam Boulevard – Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 17 over the Osage River, south of Tuscumbia – Bridge inspection will take place the week of September 6.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 52 over Route 54 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of September 6.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 54 between Route 242 and the Cole County line – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Route A between Route 17 and Route 42 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route E between Route 52 and Ten Mile Drive – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, August 30.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route BB between Route 42 and Route 133 in Maries County – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, September 6 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route PP between Route 52 and Route A – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, August 30.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Osage Beach Parkway between Route 54 and Basin Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 28 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage Beach Parkway between Mace Road and Stonecrest Circle – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 28 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route KK between Route D and Gooseberry Hollow Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, September 6 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route 5 and Snorgrass Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Morgan County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route M over Haw Creek, north of Pond Road – Bridge replacement continues.  The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route AA over Indian Creek, south of Barnett – Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on August 23. Occasional lane closures are possible during the week of August 29.

Daylight Hours

Route BB between Route D and Crystal Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route T in Gasconade County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Rumble strip installation and guardrail installation are planned for the week of August 29. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 at the Vichy Road Overpass in Rolla – Bridge maintenance and culvert pipe replacement continues.

       * Work on the retaining wall between the Vichy Road Bridge and the eastbound I-44 exit ramp at Route 63 continues the week of August 29. One eastbound lane will be closed between Route 63 and Route E.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours

Route 8 between Route 68 and the Crawford/Washington County line - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Pulaski County

Overnight Hours
Route 17 between Interstate 44 and Route T – Roadway resurfacing is underway. One lane will be open and flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 17 between Route H and Route T – Pavement improvements and grading continue.

       * Box culvert and culvert pipe extensions will take place the week of August 29. Minor traffic delays are possible in the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Route 17 between Interstate 44 and Route T – Roadway resurfacing is underway. One lane will be open and flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Interstate 44 Outer Road between Route 133 and Range Lane - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, September 6 through Thursday, September 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
