MoDOT Set to Open First-in-Nation Recovery Act Project The Missouri Department of Transportation will officially open the nation's first economic recovery act project - the Osage River Bridge at Tuscumbia - on Aug. 16. First-in-Nation Newly Repaired or Replaced Bridge Opening Every 2.5 Days Now deep into its second summer, the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program is rapidly improving Missouri's bridges. In the last 15 months, 192 bridges have been repaired or replaced, with a new bridge being opened every two-and-a-half days.
