Primary Law Passes Through Committee Missouri’s Primary Safety Belt law passed the House Transportation Committee last week. Now it will move to the house floor for a vote in the coming month. A primary law will save 90 lives, prevent 1,000 serious injuries, save $230 million in healthcare and other societal costs and qualify Missouri for a $16-20 million grant. Motorists are the ones most likely to be killed or injured in a work zone crash, and too often highway workers are hurt or killed as well. MoDOT is reminding drivers: don't barrel through work zones.
