Missouri Gets 2,200 Miles of Smooth Roads One Year Early

Missourians are experiencing 2,200 miles of smoother, safer roads one year ahead of schedule thanks to MoDOT's early completion of the state's Smooth Roads Initiative. Gov. Restored Amtrak Service on St. Louis-Kansas City Route
Amtrak and MoDOT, together with Union Pacific Railroad, are celebrating the restoration of regular twice-daily round-trip trains on the St. Louis-Kansas City Missouri Mules route. “Santa Claus” participated in a series of special events Dec. 1, along with volunteer station hosts from Kirkwood and Jefferson City. When the Weather Outside is Frightful … Map Gives Road Conditions 24/7

It's important to know there's a place you can go any time day or night to find out major road conditions throughout the state. MoDOT's Web site, http://www.modot.org/, offers a map that shows general road conditions on the state's major highways. The map, which is updated every 30 minutes during winter storms, will tell you whether a road is dry, wet, partly covered, covered or closed. Map

Missourians Recognized for Their Efforts in Highway Safety

The first annual Highway Safety Awards were presented recently to 12 individuals and four groups who helped save lives on Missouri roads. The awards were given at the Blueprint for Safer Roadways Conference in St. Louis. Winners from across the state were nominated and judged by members of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety.
